Hello there,
once again the classic lines of "it's been awhile...". I'm very sorry to my 8 followers. (To be honest I only found out today, didn't even know people follow this blog. Did you guys not notice that there's nothing here?)
Just doing a clean of my laptop since I haven't touched it for almost a year. That is correct I have lived without internet and computers for over a year! Of course I do have nifty gadgets like an iPhone and iPad so I can do my emailing and 9gag'ing so I haven't completely abandoned technology.
Now I've been thinking very hard about this blog and what to do with it. :/
Should I continue to give it a sad and fleeting existence or is it finally time to let it die?
I decided that if I was to keep it alive I should try to post more than what I have been which is one post a year at the most. This is unacceptable! Blog ancestors would roll in their graves with disapproval!
Should I give my posts some sort of structure? That way it would give me an easy to follow template so I fool myself into writing.
Time for some research!
Well.
Pro blogger seems to sum this up nicely:
"it’s core is being able to write compelling and engaging content on a consistent basis over time" -
Problogger
I've failed already =.="
According to his other post
How to craft a blog, I've been doing it all wrong.
But then I realised, his points are so that those writers can draw in more readers. Well, I don't think I really care about getting more people to read what I write. I'm happy with the amount I have at the moment anyway.
I guess this process is good because it's getting me to consider who do I actually want to read my blog?
Answer: You, the person who put in the effort to even find this blog. I sometimes think my blog is like a cousin of my old car the 1994 Toyota Corolla. Still motoring away until a car crash places it out of commission.
Hopefully nothing as drastic happens :/
Back to the blog expert. He does raise some good points though. I may try to incorporate these aspects into my future blog posts:
- Choose a topic: try to make it less rambly and make a point?
- Crafting a title: well it would certainly make it easier for me to know what my post is meant to be about
- Making my points matter: once again maybe it'll help me to ramble less. But my blog consists of my thoughts and my thoughts do ramble. hmmm...
- Making it scannable: I think this is a better idea for all! He says I should try lists and use formatting. Doesn't sound too hard! See I'm doing it already :)
He also said I shouldn't be writing essays. Too true sir, too true.
On that note I should stop this post here. He also said I should add photos cause they make stuff less boring. That's cool too, not to mention too easy.
So here is your photo for this fine posting:
PS: I thought this was funny but "biscuit" means "ugly face" according to
Snoop dog. Who knew? Maybe I'm getting old. *muses*
PPS: I just realised some of my followers may not even be real people?!? IS THIS TRUE? ;3;
**I don't know why but there are no paragraphs D:** Oh right. Need to be in "compose" mode...
